Karen Austin, M.A., MCDP

Associate Director, Career Development Center

Regents Online Degree Program



Karen Austin is a career services generalist, having served in the MTSU Career Development Center for 10 years, most currently as associate director. She has recently obtained her Master Career Development Professional designation from the National Career Development Association. Additionally, Karen has a year of corporate recruiting as an employment coordinator with an executive search firm in Brentwood, Tennessee. Her experience in the profession of career services is juxtaposed with her B.S. in criminal justice, M.A. in sociology and four years experience in corrections. Karen has conducted numerous career presentations across the MTSU campus, at professional organizations in the state of Tennessee, and is an adjunct academic professor.  Karen is an advocate of volunteer/service work and spent a year in Alaska as a VISTA volunteer.
