Raider Professional Network
What is Raider Professional Network?
The Raider Professional Network connects current students and
recent graduates with MTSU alumni, employers and friends for
networking and career advice. This is a collaborative
program between the MTSU Office of Alumni Relations and the
Career Development Center.
Why do we offer Raider Professional Network?
For most students, career exploration ends with choosing their
major. The bigger issue is what will they do with their major,
what is their career field, and how will they get there. This is where you can help. As a member of the Raider
Professional Network you can provide the real-world advice
needed to guide students on their career path.
How does it work?
MTSU alumni,
employers, and friends complete a
brief online form.
Network members decide how often they want to be contacted and
by what means (email or phone). When the Network member
reaches their contact limit, their information will no longer be
visible to students. Network members indicate what industries
and job functions they are able to offer advice on. In addition,
members can indicate if they want to volunteer to speak to
students or facilitate a career-related program. The program is
designed to be flexible - you can do as little or as much as you
want!
Who should participate?
Participants are sought from a broad range of academic majors
and career fields as well as geographic locations.
How are students advised to use it?
Students can search the Raider Professional
Network, which is part of the Career Center's online job
recruitment system, Lightning JobSource. Students will contact
the Network member to request an informational interview (not a
job interview).
