Updates
The following are
changes CEC staff members have been working on since October 2007:

Converted all Lightning JobSource account numbers to M#s,
eliminating thousands of Social Security Numbers from the system.

Implemented Focus II, an web-based career assessment.

Launched Perfect Interview, an interactive mock interview program
with
Perfect Resume
Creator, an interactive resume builder.

Launched coordinator web pages for each college, complete with
Career Services Inventory form for requesting appointments.

Reorganized and updated web resource links.
- Launched new web site design; streamlining/organizing existing
content and adding new content.
- Streamlined account registration process for Lightning JobSource and
implemented process online. First month was January 2008 with a
109% increase over January 2007.
- Implemented Work Placement tracking in Lightning JobSource.
- Implemented Adviser Note module in Lightning JobSource.
- Implementation of Interfolio, a software program for credential
management.
- Re-branding of eRecruiting as Lightning JobSource and designed new
graphic.
- All jobs (student employment, on-campus, post graduate) now listed
in Lightning JobSource.
- Created new search features in
Lightning JobSourceso students can easily
locate different types of positions.
- Began coordinating accounting on-campus interviews through
Lightning JobSource (expanding to all majors spring semester).
- Implemented career fair software to handle registration and
processing.
- Separated upcoming Internship and Summer Jobs fair into two distinct
fairs.
- Implemented the email marketing software EmmaŽ to handle
communications.
- Began staff training in new career assessment instruments to use
with students.
- Implemented calendar feature in
Lightning JobSourceto list all programs,
career fairs, and position application deadlines.
- Hired new career coordinator for College of Business.
- Merged employer databases into one comprehensive database.
- Updated printed material in career resource area.
- Streamlining office operations. We have eliminated 1,600 pounds of
paper. All documents now kept online in Lightning JobSource (eRecruiting).
