Frequently Asked Questions

How do I open an employer account? (Back to Top)

Visit http://mtsu.erecruiting.com/emp/sblogin and click Create an Account (under the Login button). You will be asked to complete a profile, including your organization's name, your name and title, and contact information. After submitting your request for access, you will receive an email containing your username and password, which you should keep for your records. If at any time you forget your password, there is a link on the login page to retrieve it.

Your request for access is sent directly to our office, where it will be approved by a member of our staff. Once you have been accepted, you will receive a confirmation email that contains a link to log in.

How do I post an open position with the Career Center? (Back to Top)

There are two ways to submit a job posting: 1) Log in to Lightning JobSource, click the Jobs Link, then Create a New Job, or 2) Complete our Job/Internship Posting Form, which will be entered into Lightning JobSource. The former is the most effective way to post a job, as it allows you to have direct control over the content of the posting.

Note: the MTSU Career Development Center does not post positions for third-party staffing agencies unless the position requires working directly for the staffing agency.

How do I set up On-Campus Interviews? (Back to Top)

In order to schedule on-campus interviews, first complete the online Reservation for Campus Recruiting. Our Recruiting Coordinator will contact you concerning the details of the request. Meanwhile, login to Lightning JobSource and post the position for which you wish to conduct interviews. Once the job is in Lightning JobSource, we simply attach an online interview schedule and publicize the event to students. It's that easy!

Where do I find career fair information and registration? (Back to Top)

Once you have logged in to Lightning JobSource, there is a list of Upcoming Career Fairs on the right side of the page. By clicking on an event, you can read a complete description as well as click on the Register Now link to submit a registration. You will receive an email notification once your registration has been accepted. Click here to read about annual MTSU Career Fairs.

How can I receive a resume referral? (Back to Top)

In order to receive a resume referral from one of the career coordinators, you must have an active job or internship posted in Lightning JobSource. Simply contact the appropriate coordinator, or email a request to career@mtsu.edu, and the appropriate coordinator will contact you with a .pdf-formatted resume bundle.

What are Web Resume Books? (Back to Top)

A Web Resume Book is an electronic collection of resumes with a focus in mind. For example, there are separate books for M.B.A. candidates, accounting students, students seeking internships, full-time employment, etc. In order to gain access, you must have an active job or internship posted in Lightning JobSource. To request Web Resume Book access, please contact the Career Center.
